Minister of Construction inspects progress of transport projects in Thai Nguyen
On the morning of January 15, Comrade Tran Hong Minh, Member of the Party Central Executive Committee and Minister of Construction, conducted a field inspection of Cho Moi - Bac Kan Road Construction Investment Project and the preparation for implementation of Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi Expressway Completion Project. Accompanying him were Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of Party Central Executive Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of several departments and branches.

According to reports, the investor is actively coordinating with the locality to implement tasks to accelerate project progress. Regarding Cho Moi - Bac Kan Road Construction Investment Project with a length of 28.8 km. To date, the completed workload has reached 11.5% of the contract value, including road works, bridges, pedestrian underpasses, box culverts and precast culverts. Disbursement of capital for the 2025 construction package as of December 31, 2025 reached 93%.

Project Management Unit No. 2 committed to making continuous efforts, closely following the construction site and coordinating with supervision consultants and contractors to adhere to progress milestones, aiming to basically complete the roadbed by June 2026, complete the substructure of bridges by October 2026 and open the entire route to traffic within 2026.

Regarding the investment project for the completion of CT.07 Expressway, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section, under PPP form (without State capital participation in the project), has a length of 102 km. This includes: Hanoi - Thai Nguyen section from Ring Road 3 interchange (Km8+500) to Tan Long interchange; and Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section from Tan Long interchange to Thanh Binh interchange (Thanh Thinh Commune, Thai Nguyen province). The preliminary total investment is approximately VND 19,000 billion. The Ministry of Construction issued an official letter agreeing to assign Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee as the competent authority to organize research on the investment for the complete construction of CT.07 Expressway, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section, under the Public-Private Partnership mode. Department for Road of Vietnam also issued a document regarding the agreement on the investment plan for the complete construction of CT.07 Expressway, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section. Currently, the Department of Construction Infrastructure is presiding over advising on the content of assigning management and transferring infrastructure assets of Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway section. Thai Nguyen Department of Construction is actively coordinating with the Ministry of Construction and the Department of Construction Infrastructure to implement the above contents to meet the Project’s progress.

Providing on-site direction, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh acknowledged the efforts of the involved units in implementing the projects and requested that, for Cho Moi – Bac Kan road project, investors and contractors concentrate maximum manpower and machinery, take advantage of favorable weather conditions and accelerate construction to ensure progress. Project Management Unit No. 2 was again urged to closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly address arising difficulties, striving to open the entire route to traffic in 2026.
For CT.07 Expressway Completion Project, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section, the Minister requested relevant units to urgently complete procedures in order to commence construction around May 2026, contributing to the completion of a synchronized transport network, facilitating travel and promoting socio-economic development.
Receiving the Minister’s instructions, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Province People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that the Provincial People’s Committee will continue to closely coordinate with investors during project implementation and create favorable conditions to accelerate construction progress.
