From FDI attraction to building an industrial ecosystem

The foreign-invested economic sector is entering a new stage, in which the goal is no longer limited to increasing the scale of investment capital but extends to improving its quality, efficiency, and spillover effects across the economy. Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW dated June 8, 2026 of the Politburo marks a comprehensive shift from a focus on attracting investment in quantity to one centered on value creation and sustainable development, with innovation, technology transfer, linkages with domestic enterprises, and stronger national competitiveness at its core. This direction creates numerous opportunities for localities to leverage their advantages, including Thai Nguyen in its role as an industrial center of the northern midland and mountainous region.

Goods exports and imports reach nearly USD 46 billion in first eight months of 2026

In the first eight months of 2026, total goods exports and imports in the province were estimated at USD 45,972 million, up 33% year-on-year. Of this total, exports were estimated at USD 26,304.3 million, up 24.6%, while imports were estimated at USD 19,667.7 million, up 46.2% year-on-year.

On the morning of August 20, Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, together with leaders of several departments and sectors, inspected progress on the project to construct the road from Bac Kan City to Ba Be Lake and connect it to Na Hang, Tuyen Quang Province.
