Delivering the opening remarks, Comrade Hoang Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Thai Nguyen University, emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Thai Nguyen University Party Committee Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, which requires the entire Party Committee to continue reforming university governance, improving the quality of training, scientific research and technology transfer, and expanding international cooperation.

In the first six months of 2026, the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen University led the comprehensive implementation of political tasks and achieved many positive results. Party building, the consolidation of the organizational apparatus, and digital transformation in university governance were carried out in a coordinated manner. Thai Nguyen University completed the consolidation of its Board of Directors; appointed 7 rectors and 21 vice rectors of its member universities; established the Regional Innovation Center; and expanded its development space with schemes to establish a branch campus in Cao Bang, develop a training facility in Dien Bien, and take over facilities in Bac Kan.

In the field of training and scientific research, Thai Nguyen University newly enrolled 734 master's students and 73 doctoral candidates; and completed the dossiers to open 27 new undergraduate programs and 9 master's programs. The entire University is carrying out 1,078 science and technology tasks with a total budget of about VND 85 billion. International cooperation activities continued to expand, with 20 cooperation documents signed and 9 international projects implemented at a total budget of nearly USD 3 million and over EUR 270,000. In Party building, the Party Committee admitted 240 new Party members, exceeding the assigned target by 10.6%.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the results achieved, pointing out limitations and shortcomings, and proposing solutions to continue reforming university governance, improving the quality of training, scientific research and digital transformation, and bringing into play the role of Thai Nguyen University in the socio-economic development of the province and the region.

Delivering directive remarks at the conference, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen University in the first six months, especially the changes in reforming university governance and digital transformation, the effective operation of the Regional Innovation Center, the expansion of international cooperation, and the effective implementation of the coordination program with the province, contributing to promoting socio-economic development. He requested the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen University to continue building a clean and strong Party organization; to enhance the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations; to step up digital transformation in governance, training and scientific research; and to improve the quality of training, research and technology transfer in line with the development needs of the province and enterprises. At the same time, he called for a focus on building a high-quality team of lecturers and scientists; strengthening inspection and supervision, and developing Party members among young lecturers and students; and effectively implementing the cooperation agreement between the province and Thai Nguyen University, bringing into play its role as the region's center for human resource training, scientific research and innovation.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Standing Committee presented Certificates of Commendation to 4 Party members who “excellently fulfilled their tasks” for 5 consecutive years (2021 - 2025); and the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee commended 24 Party members who “excellently fulfilled their tasks” for 5 consecutive years.
