More than 298,000 visitors come to Thai Nguyen during the September 2 National Day holiday
During the five-day holiday from August 29 to September 2, 2026, Thai Nguyen welcomed more than 298,000 visitors to tourist attractions across the province, up 24% from the same period in 2025.
Visitors exploring Kem Stream in La Bang Commune
International visitors accounted for 3,250 arrivals and domestic visitors for 294,750. Tourism revenue was estimated at VND 275 billion, up 76.3% from the same period in 2025.
Tourist attractions, accommodation providers and tourism service businesses proactively developed visitor-service plans and guided their employees in implementing them. They ensured adequate facilities, services and environmental sanitation; improved landscapes for visitors; publicly posted service prices and committed not to raise them; and complied with regulations on security, safety and disease prevention. As a result, tourism activities during the holiday were safe and well managed for residents and visitors alike.

During the holiday, numerous communes and wards across the province also held cultural, artistic, culinary and experiential programs, creating additional attractions for visitors.
Highlights in Phan Dinh Phung Ward included the "Thai Nguyen - Echoes of the Song of Independence" art performance and a high-altitude fireworks display combined with low-altitude explosive fireworks at Vo Nguyen Giap Square; the "Phan Dinh Phung Ward - Shaping the Future and Advancing Development" street arts program; and a pedestrian street and cultural, commercial, service and nighttime-economy space showcasing local cuisine, OCOP products, tourist destinations and scenic attractions in Thai Nguyen Province.
Van Xuan Ward held the 2026 Vietnamese Culinary Excellence Week and the "Essence of Vietnamese Cuisine: A Symphony of Colors, Flavors and Art" festival night, and inaugurated its pedestrian street.
Slam Chiem Grassland attracting numerous visitors
In Bac Kan Ward, the Culinary Culture Festival, held in conjunction with a program connecting consumers with Thai Nguyen Province's arrowroot vermicelli and agricultural products, the "Charm of Indigo" program, the "August in Autumn - Song of Independence" art program and fireworks displays, attracted large numbers of residents and visitors.
In Hiep Luc Commune, men's and women's air volleyball exchanges, grassland tours, kite flying, folk games, local cuisine and community cultural exchanges at Slam Chiem Grassland created a distinctive highlight for local tourism.
In addition, several localities held cultural and artistic activities celebrating major national holidays, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere among the People.
