Rendering of the overall renovation and upgrading plan for Doc Lim Martyrs' Cemetery
Under the preliminary design, Doc Lim Martyrs' Cemetery will undergo comprehensive renovation and upgrading of its gate, memorial monument, grave area, perimeter walls, and landscape infrastructure. The gate and forecourt will be refurbished, with the ground level raised to mitigate waterlogging; the memorial monument and ceremonial courtyard will be expanded and stone-clad, and two memorial stele pavilions, each bearing the names of approximately 500 martyrs, will be added.
The grave area will be clad in natural stone, with new gravestones, upgraded access paths, and improved lawns. The perimeter walls will be renovated in a consistent style, while trees, lighting, and a landscape pond will be added or upgraded, helping create a solemn and cohesive memorial space.
