Journalist Huynh Thuc Khang was a prominent patriot and a leading journalist who made significant contributions to the struggle for national independence and the development of Vietnamese journalism. In 1927, journalist Huynh Thuc Khang founded Tieng Dan Newspaper, serving as its publisher and editor-in-chief. During its 16 years of operation, Tieng Dan became an influential press forum that reflected contemporary political and social life, promoted patriotic thought, raised public awareness, protected the rights and interests of the people, and fostered national spirit.

After the August Revolution of 1945, in various positions, journalist Huynh Thuc Khang continued to devote his intellect and wholehearted dedication to the revolutionary cause, while lending it his prestige. The life, career, and character of journalist Huynh Thuc Khang left a profound legacy, not only in the nation's history but also in the formation, development, and strengthening of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

In the revolutionary homeland of Thai Nguyen, on April 4, 1949, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was established in Bo Ra Hamlet, Tan Thai Commune, Dai Tu District (now part of Dai Phuc Commune, Thai Nguyen Province), with an inaugural class of 42 trainees. It was the country's first revolutionary journalism training institution, helping train journalists to serve the cause of resistance and national construction. Against this historical backdrop, the National Historical Site of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School has become a place of special significance in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
