Expediting preparations at venues for International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026
On September 10, Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of the Organizing Committee for International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026, inspected progress on preparations at Festival venues in the walking street area of Phan Dinh Phung Ward.

Accompanying her were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Industry and Trade, Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Phan Dinh Phung Ward People’s Committee.

During the inspection, the investor’s representative reported on site preparation and progress on Festival-related works. The investor is currently concentrating personnel and equipment to accelerate construction in the walking street area, including the clock tower, flower garden, canopies, and other works, with the aim of completing them and handing over the site soon so that relevant units can set up exhibition spaces for the Festival.

Following the on-site inspection, Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, requested that the investor continue concentrating resources, accelerate progress, and meet the established deadlines. Specifically, part of the site must be handed over by the end of September; all Festival sites must be handed over in full by October 15; and the aim is to inaugurate the walking street on October 31.

She assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to serve as the focal point for coordinating with the investor on acceptance and handover of the site in accordance with the commitment. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is to coordinate with Phan Dinh Phung Ward People’s Committee in urging the cleanup and beautification of the areas in front of and behind Vo Nguyen Giap Square, ensuring an attractive landscape and sufficient space for exhibition booths and fireworks displays.

International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026 takes place from October 30 to November 7. The walking street area and Vo Nguyen Giap Square will host a wide range of cultural and artistic activities, trade promotion, and tea product promotion, including the opening and closing ceremonies, the “Tea Procession to Open the Festival” art parade, artistic programs, Tea Appreciation Night, Food Street, an investment promotion space, and exhibitions of Thai Nguyen and international tea products. Other attractions will include the “Journey of Thai Nguyen Tea” experience space and a fine-art photography exhibition introducing the province’s nature, culture, people, tea-growing regions, and outstanding achievements in socioeconomic development.

Workers pressing ahead with construction to hand the site back early

Accelerating the completion of facilities, landscape improvements, and preparation of event spaces will help ensure that International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026 proceeds as scheduled, thereby promoting Thai Nguyen’s tea culture and showcasing the province and its people to domestic and international visitors.
