Tea acreage being steadily maintained, tended, and harvested

In August 2026, the province's fresh tea bud output was estimated at 30,150 metric tons. Cumulative output in the first eight months reached 209,738 metric tons, equivalent to 75.5% of the annual target. Productive tea acreage continues to be maintained, tended, and harvested, helping secure raw materials for processing.

Notably, the raw tea market is currently relatively stable. Fresh tea bud prices have not fluctuated significantly because supply remains steady and purchasing and transport activities are proceeding smoothly. Tea businesses, cooperatives, and processing establishments are operating normally, while dried tea prices remain largely stable, helping sustain the province's tea production, processing, and consumption chain.

Alongside maintaining productive tea acreage, localities are focusing on new planting, replanting, and rejuvenating tea-growing areas. In 2026, the province plans to plant or replant 676 ha. It has completed 205 ha to date, including 130 ha of replanted tea and 75 ha of newly planted tea. Tea planted in 2025 is being well tended and is gradually maturing, supporting sustained and higher productivity in tea-growing areas in the years ahead.

Continued new planting and replanting, combined with tending productive tea acreage and stabilizing growing areas, has been identified as an important measure for improving the productivity, quality, competitiveness, and value of Thai Nguyen tea in the period ahead.
