Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presents special commendations to collectives and individuals for rapidly solving robbery case in Gia Sang ward
On the morning of May 25, Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee organized a ceremony to present Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 collectives and 7 individuals for their outstanding performance in swiftly investigating and cracking the "property robbery" case that occurred in Gia Sang ward on May 21, 2026. Attending the ceremony were Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, Member of the Party Central Executive Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Major General Bui Duc Hai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Police Department; along with representatives of relevant provincial departments and agencies.

According to the police authority, at approximately 6:40 p.m. on May 21, a robbery occurred at the Sang Stok phone store in Huong Son 5 residential cluster, Gia Sang ward. The perpetrator used a knife to threaten and subdue the store owner, stealing more than 50 iPhones and VND 20 million in cash, with a total estimated value of approximately VND 700 million.
Immediately upon receiving the report, Gia Sang Ward Police, in coordination with specialized units, urgently deployed investigative measures. After more than 6 hours of pursuit, the police apprehended the suspect Nguyen Van Tien (born in 2003, residing in Tan Khanh commune, Thai Nguyen Province) while he was hiding in Son La Province.

At the ceremony, the leadership of the provincial Emulation and Commendation Board announced Decision No. 1499/QD-UBND dated May 24, 2026, on awarding Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 collectives and 7 individuals for outstanding performance in investigating, cracking, and apprehending the perpetrator of the "property robbery" case that occurred on May 21, 2026, in Gia Sang ward, Thai Nguyen Province.
The two collectives awarded Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee are: the Technical Operations and Plainclothes Division (Thai Nguyen Province Police Department) and Gia Sang Ward Police. The seven individuals commended are officers and soldiers who demonstrated outstanding performance in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect, contributing to maintaining public security and order and ensuring the safety of the people.
