Thai Nguyen Province opens its first Contest for Outstanding Grassroots Security and Order Protection Forces
On the morning of June 24, at the Provincial Police Auditorium, the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee opened the first 2026 Contest for Outstanding Grassroots Security and Order Protection Forces. Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Contest Steering Committee, attended the Contest along with leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, provincial departments, boards and agencies, and a large number of officers, soldiers, and contesting teams from local areas.

Delivering the opening remarks at the Contest, Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Contest Steering Committee, emphasized: Since the Law on the Force Participating in Protection of Security and Order at the Grassroots Level took effect on July 1, 2024, this force has steadily affirmed its important role in supporting commune-level police in performing the task of ensuring security and order and building the all-people movement to protect national security. Force members have actively monitored local conditions, disseminated information, and mobilized the People to comply with the law and prevent and combat crime and social evils; participated in fire prevention and fighting, rescue and salvage, and disaster recovery, helping maintain political stability and social order and safety at the grassroots level. The Contest was held to affirm the position and role of the grassroots security and order protection force in maintaining security and order, while also providing an opportunity for members to demonstrate their capabilities and situation-handling skills and to enhance their political, legal, and professional knowledge. This will help build an increasingly strong force that meets task requirements under the new circumstances.

The Contest drew 12 teams, representing 7,666 members of the grassroots security and order protection force from 92 communes and wards across the Province. These are outstanding teams selected from grassroots-level contests, promising a meaningful platform while strengthening exchange and the sharing of experience among localities.
The teams competed in three rounds: Talent, Knowledge, and Situation Handling. The contest content focused on practical issues in ensuring security and order at the grassroots level, skills in disseminating information and mobilizing the public, and handling situations arising in residential areas.

The Contest is not only a useful professional platform but also helps spread the positive image of the grassroots security and order protection force, raising awareness among officials, Party members, and the People of this force's role in maintaining security and order and building a solid people's security posture from the grassroots level.
