Students with outstanding achievements attending the Conference

Attending the Conference were Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; a representative of the Department of Communications for Ethnic and Religious Affairs (Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs); leaders of provincial departments, boards, agencies, and localities; teachers; parents; and 230 outstanding ethnic minority students.

In the 2025-2026 school year, education in the province's ethnic minority and mountainous areas continued to achieve many positive results. The network of schools and classrooms was strengthened; facilities were invested in step by step; policies for ethnic minority students were implemented fully and promptly; and the system of boarding and semi-boarding ethnic minority schools continued to operate effectively. Notably, of the province's 125 national excellent-student awards, 29 were won by ethnic minority students, affirming the studious spirit, the resolve to overcome difficulties, and the aspirations of students in the highland areas.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the students' spirit of overcoming difficulties and their will to rise up, while also praising the efforts of the education sector, the ethnic and religious affairs sector, authorities at all levels, schools, teachers, and parents in caring for and nurturing students in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. He stressed that Thai Nguyen Province has always identified education and training as a foremost national policy and an important driving force for human resource development. For ethnic minority and mountainous areas, education not only opens up opportunities for the development of each individual but also helps raise public knowledge, achieve sustainable poverty reduction, and preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the education and training sector to continue improving the quality of comprehensive education; to focus on identifying and nurturing gifted and excellent ethnic minority students; and to step up digital transformation in education. The ethnic and religious affairs sector needs to effectively implement ethnic policies and build a high-quality young workforce. Authorities at all levels, sectors, localities, and society as a whole should continue to join hands in caring for students in remote, isolated, and especially disadvantaged areas, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and develop comprehensively, and that no student is left behind because of difficult circumstances.

At the Conference, 230 outstanding students representing 13 ethnic groups living in the province were commended and rewarded. Among them was a representative of the Ngai ethnic group, one of the ethnic groups with a population of under 10,000 people. This was a meaningful activity aimed at recognizing and honoring ethnic minority students with outstanding achievements in academic study, scientific research, culture, arts, and physical education and sports, and in youth movements, while also providing additional motivation, confidence, and aspiration to contribute to the young generations of ethnic groups in the province on their journey to pursue knowledge, build their careers, and establish themselves in life, contributing to building an increasingly developed Thai Nguyen homeland.
