Thai Nguyen sports wins 371 medals at national and international tournaments
In the early months of 2026, the physical training and sports movement in Thai Nguyen province continued to develop strongly, from mass sports to high-performance sports, helping to improve the spiritual life of the people and affirming the position of local sports on the national and international stage.

Sports and physical training work has been implemented in a coordinated manner, combined with organizing many large-scale sporting events and developing community training movements. Notably, in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation, the province successfully organized the 2026 National Cup Women's Football Tournament at Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium, creating a quality playing field for athletes and attracting large numbers of fans.

Sports for people with disabilities continued to make a mark with many encouraging achievements. At the 2026 National Para Badminton and Table Tennis Championships, the Thai Nguyen delegation won 3 Silver and 7 Bronze medals. At the 2026 National Para Athletics and Weightlifting Championships, the athletes excelled, bringing home 9 Gold, 17 Silver, and 24 Bronze medals, while also ranking third overall.

In particular, the province's high-performance sports continued to achieve many successes. From the beginning of the year to date, Thai Nguyen athletes have competed in 26 national and international tournaments, winning a total of 371 medals of all kinds, including 104 Gold, 106 Silver, and 161 Bronze medals. Of these, they won 7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals at 4 international tournaments, and earned 1 first-place overall flag at Asian and national championships.
The results achieved in the first half of 2026 reflect the province's investment and attention to the field of physical training and sports, while also affirming that the quality of athlete training and coaching is increasingly being improved. This is an important foundation for Thai Nguyen sports to continue striving for higher achievements in the coming time.
