RMAP responsible minerals certification - “Passport” bringing Masan tungsten into the global tungsten supply chain
The tungsten refining plant (Masan Tungsten Company - MTC) under Masan High-Tech Materials (UpCOM: MSR) has once again been recognized by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) as a refiner conformant with the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP). This is the ninth consecutive year MTC has achieved this prestigious certification, affirming its capacity to meet the highest international standards in tungsten supply chain governance, traceability, and sustainable development.
This achievement not only reflects MSR's consistent commitment to responsible mineral mining and processing but also strengthens the confidence of customers and global partners at a time when requirements on supply chain transparency and ESG are increasingly becoming mandatory criteria for high-tech industries.

International standards for responsible mineral supply
RMAP is one of the world's most prestigious independent assessment programs, developed by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) to verify that smelters and refiners meet strict requirements on responsible mineral supply governance.
The assessment process includes a comprehensive review of the management system, raw material traceability, supplier due diligence, risk management, and internal control mechanisms. The assessments are conducted independently on the basis of records, operating data, and actual evidence in order to confirm that the company fully complies with international standards.
Maintaining the certification continuously for nine consecutive years since 2018 shows that MTC has built an operating governance system that has remained stable across many cycles, has sustained compliance discipline, and is able to adapt to market fluctuations and the increasingly demanding requirements of the global supply chain.
Responsible production carried out throughout, from raw material source control to processing procedures and product quality
Governance capacity creating a competitive advantage
The ninth-year RMAP certification reflects MTC's persistent investment in a transparent and disciplined governance system and in integrating ESG (Environmental - Social - Governance) principles throughout, from supply governance to output products. As a result, the company can comprehensively meet customers' stringent requirements, from quality and cost to raw material origin, transparency, and risk control capacity.
In addition to raw materials from the Nui Phao mine, MTC also receives and manages tungsten raw materials of diverse origins from nearly 100 small-scale mines worldwide. Controlling many raw material sources with different geological characteristics at the same time, while still ensuring uniform output quality in line with strict technical standards, requires a high level of supply chain management and operating capacity.
To meet this requirement, MTC applies two layers of control at the same time: Supply chain due diligence to verify the origin and assess the risks of input materials; and a multi-tier quality management system that helps standardize production processes and ensures that materials from different sources with different characteristics are all processed under a uniform procedure and meet customers' technical requirements.

Technological capability ensuring stable product quality
Alongside responsible supply governance is a rigorous quality control system built on a modern technology foundation. In producing high-purity, high-value intermediate tungsten products such as APT, BTO, and YTO, MTC combines in-process control and independent analysis with automation technology, artificial intelligence, and real-time monitoring in order to tightly control the entire production process. The plant also applies more than 500 standard operating procedures and work instructions, covering every production area and technological stage.
The documentation system is managed centrally, reviewed periodically, and updated as soon as changes occur, helping standardize operations, track operating trends, and detect early signs of abnormalities for timely adjustment and optimal operating efficiency. As a result, the production process remains stable at all times, ensuring high uniformity across product batches and consistently meeting strict technical standards.

The “passport” bringing Vietnamese tungsten into the global supply chain
For technology, automotive, energy, semiconductor, and defense corporations, RMAP is increasingly becoming an important criterion in selecting and assessing suppliers.
Achieving RMAP conformance is independent proof of MTC's capacity to control raw material sources and of its responsible business practices in line with internationally recognized standards.
Long-term cooperation with many strategic customers such as Mitsubishi Materials, H.C. Starck, Kennametal, TaeguTec … is clear proof of MSR's governance capacity, operating efficiency, and reputation in the international market.
As one of the strategic pillars of Masan Group, the tungsten business continues to be strengthened by the maintenance of the RMAP certification, thereby reinforcing customer confidence, expanding access to global markets, and affirming MSR's position as a prestigious, responsible, and sustainable tungsten supply partner for global industries
