Provincial leadership receives and holds working session with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam
On the afternoon of April 15, Comrade Duong Van Luong, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, received and held a working session with Ms. Helga Barth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam and her delegation, who made a courtesy call on the provincial leadership of Provincial People’s Committee. Also in attendance were leaders of Thai Nguyen University.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee introduced the potential and strengths of Thai Nguyen province across various sectors. Accordingly, Thai Nguyen is the third-largest training center in Vietnam, with 9 universities, 13 colleges, 8 professional secondary schools and nearly 40 vocational training centers, supplying high-quality human resources to the entire region. With a development orientation toward 2030, Thai Nguyen strives to become a growth pole and a modern industrial, urban-service, education and healthcare center of the northern midland and mountainous region. In addition to industry, Thai Nguyen is also known as the “Tea Capital of Vietnam,” with a Thai Nguyen tea brand that is renowned both domestically and internationally.

Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that Germany is one of Vietnam’s important partners in Europe, not only in economics, trade and investment but also in education, vocational training, science and technology, energy transition and sustainable development. These cooperation outcomes constitute a highly positive foundation for Vietnamese localities, including Thai Nguyen province, to continue strengthening connectivity and expanding cooperation with German partners in the coming time.

He also commended the delegation for attending the “Opening Ceremony of the Thai Nguyen Climate Park” at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and affirmed that Thai Nguyen province also attaches great importance to proactive climate change adaptation. He therefore requested Ms. Helga Barth to assist in connecting Thai Nguyen province with German partners in the areas of climate change mitigation, carbon credits and a number of other potential fields such as attracting investment to industrial parks, tea industry development and tourism in Thai Nguyen province.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception by the provincial leadership of Thai Nguyen, Ms. Helga Barth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, conveyed her impression at the development of Thai Nguyen on her second visit, particularly the system of universities, colleges and professional secondary schools in the province. Ms. Helga Barth indicated her readiness to connect German enterprises with Thai Nguyen to explore investment and cooperation opportunities, thereby helping to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries in general and with Thai Nguyen in particular. Ms. Helga Barth also expressed confidence that, with a pool of high-quality human resources from its professional universities and colleges, Thai Nguyen will develop rapidly in the coming time.
