According to the draft Plan, the Provincial People's Committee plans to organize the International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026 in late October with numerous distinctive cultural, experiential, and sports activities. Among them, the highlight of the Festival is the opening art program, held in connection with the 195th anniversary of the founding of Thai Nguyen province, along with a series of notable events organized by Thai Nguyen province, central agencies, and businesses, such as: the launch of a heritage train route between Hanoi Station and Thai Nguyen Station (and vice versa); tea appreciation with celebrities at Thai Nguyen's five tea-growing regions; an International Tea Street Festival; the Vietnam Master Tea Competition; development of a brand identity for the Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival and a demonstration of digital transformation technology for the tea industry; an international tea forum; and a Thai Nguyen Tea House 3D mapping experience space. In addition, several competitions will take place, including the final round of the National Class A Volleyball Tournament, the Green Thai Nguyen Golf Tournament, the Miss Vietnamese Identity Pageant, and the 2026 National Solo and Ensemble Traditional Instrument Competition.

Through organizing the Festival, Thai Nguyen province aims to build the International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen into a prestigious cultural-economic event with influence at home and abroad; to help promote Thai Nguyen and Vietnamese tea products and tea culture; to raise public awareness of the history, cultural value, and benefits of tea; to attract tourists and promote tourism products linked with tea culture; and to boost trade promotion, connecting tea-growing regions, businesses, producers, and markets.

At the Conference, delegates gave their opinions on preparations for organizing the activities and the specific content of each event, as well as on coordination to ensure the successful organization of the Festival and to create Thai Nguyen's own distinctive mark and identity.

Delivering directive remarks, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Loan requested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism take the lead, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and localities, in developing a detailed script for each event within the Festival. Units are to promptly research and develop specific organizing plans and cost estimates and submit them to the standing agency for compilation and advisory work as required. The Provincial People's Committee Office is to fully incorporate delegates' opinions, review, supplement, and finalize the content for reporting to and seeking guidance from the Provincial People's Committee leadership, while also agreeing on the number of international guests attending the Festival.

She also requested that press and media agencies step up communication and promotion of tea products and Festival activities, ensuring broad and effective outreach. Localities are to proactively organize distinctive cultural activities in tea-growing areas to help attract tourists, while also building and promoting the unique identity of the province's well-known tea-growing regions.
