The program is organized in conjunction with activities commemorating the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), while continuing to pursue the goals and tasks set out in the Schemes of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on tourism development and the promotion of cultural values and human identity of Thai Nguyen for the 2026-2030 period.

According to the Plan, the Opening Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on May 15, 2026 at Vo Nguyen Giap Square, featuring a range of activities including: a video clip presentation introducing Thai Nguyen tourism; an opening artistic performance; the official opening ritual for the Tourism Season; a special artistic performance; and a combined high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks display with a drone light show. The program will be broadcast live on the channels of Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio and Television and a number of other provincial and municipal broadcasters as well as simultaneously livestreamed on digital platforms.

Through this series of activities, Thai Nguyen province introduces its land, people, and distinctive cultural heritage to both domestic and international visitors; promotes scenic landscapes, tourism zones and destinations, and signature tourism products, including tea culture experiential tourism.

To ensure effective implementation of the program, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the standing agency to take the lead in coordinating with relevant agencies, units, and localities in organizing planned activities; developing a detailed script for the opening ceremony; preparing stage, sound, lighting, and ceremonial decoration; organizing the artistic performance, fireworks display, and drone show; and coordinating with press agencies to intensify promotional and communication efforts.

Thai Nguyen Province Police will take the lead in formulating security, traffic safety, and fire prevention and firefighting plans for all event venues. The Provincial Military Command will coordinate in developing mine-clearance plans, and issuing permits for and managing unmanned aerial vehicles, and will organize the fireworks display with absolute safety assurance.

The Department of Health will deploy emergency medical personnel and equipment to ensure healthcare for delegates and the public, and will coordinate food safety and hygiene, and disease prevention and control throughout the event. Relevant departments and agencies — including the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Industry and Trade — will, in accordance with their respective functions and responsibilities, coordinate in implementing program support tasks ranging from environmental protection, infrastructure, and communications to market oversight and consumer demand stimulation.
