TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (HNX: TNG) has recently been named by Forbes Vietnam among Vietnam's Top 50 ESG-leading enterprises in 2026. The recognition acknowledges TNG's efforts to progressively integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its production and business operations. Notably, TNG is the only textile and garment enterprise on the list.
For the first time, Forbes Vietnam has published its list of the Top 50 ESG-leading enterprises. The nominated enterprises undergo a multi-stage screening and evaluation process. Company dossiers undergo an independent technical assessment by SGS Vietnam against 66 indicators across four categories: environmental (35%), social (25%), governance (25%), and finance and compliance (15%). The review focuses on completeness, scope of application, reporting period, legal-entity status, and the verifiability of information, data, and supporting documents.
Based on these dossiers, Forbes Vietnam applies the Forbes Qualification Index (FQI), comprising 10 criteria covering information disclosure, finance, sustainable development, environment and energy, emissions, occupational safety, ESG governance, business ethics, responsible supply chains, and compliance. An enterprise is included in the group considered for recognition only when it meets at least 80% of the assessment requirements.
Greener through changes on the factory floor
Solar power systems installed at Viet Duc and Viet Thai factories
In the textile and garment industry, the green transition is not a matter of a few standalone projects. It directly involves energy, production efficiency, working conditions, and the ability to meet increasingly stringent standards across global supply chains.
TNG has deployed solar power systems at its Viet Duc, Viet Thai, Song Cong 1, and Phu Binh 2 factories, with total investment of VND 38 billion, raising TNG's total solar power capacity to more than 4,000 kWp. These systems can meet approximately 35-45% of production electricity demand at the factories where they are installed, significantly reducing electricity costs.
Alongside the development of clean energy sources, TNG continues to implement energy-saving measures, automation, and production-process optimization. Through these efforts, TNG is pursuing sustainable development linked with operational efficiency.
ESG starts with employees
If “E” is about the environment, then “S” at TNG is closely tied to production activities and the well-being of nearly 20,000 employees. TNG regards creating a stable, safe, and modern working environment and providing employees with opportunities to increase their income as an important part of its long-term development strategy. Technology, automation, ERP, AI, Big Data, and intelligent overhead conveyor lines have been introduced into production not only to improve efficiency but also to reduce manual operations and improve working conditions for employees.

These solutions help improve the efficiency of the company's production and business operations. In the first eight months of 2026, TNG's revenue reached VND 7,236 billion, up 22.2% year on year, while its contribution to the state budget exceeds VND 100 billion annually.
Positive business results also provide additional resources for TNG to sustain its social welfare activities. Each year, the company allocates VND 4-7 billion to charitable programs focusing on employees, local communities, education and study promotion, support for people in difficult circumstances, the construction of houses of gratitude, and disaster response.
Governance for long-term development
A company seeking long-term development cannot rely solely on making its factories greener or increasing its contributions to the community. The key foundation remains governance capacity, data, and control capabilities.
TNG is continuing to improve its governance system through digitalization, expand the use of technology in management, and conduct greenhouse-gas inventories. At its 2026 General Meeting of Shareholders, TNG again identified ESG as one of the directions in its development plan, with targets related to clean energy, automation, employee income, and green production.
Being named by Forbes Vietnam among Vietnam's Top 50 ESG-leading enterprises in 2026 marks a noteworthy milestone on this journey.
For TNG, ESG is not a destination but the path the company has chosen for the long term: growing responsibly, operating efficiently, and creating more sustainable value for employees, customers, communities, and future generations.
