Phu Thong Fort is a national-level historical site associated with the assault on Phu Thong Fort on July 25, 1948 by the main forces of the Vietnam People's Army. This was one of the exemplary fortified-position assaults in the early years of the resistance war against the French colonialists, helping to accumulate important experience in the art of assaulting fortified positions and laying the groundwork for the victories of our army in later major campaigns. The restoration and embellishment of the site not only helps preserve and promote its historical value but also creates another “red address” for educating people about revolutionary traditions, serving the People and visitors in touring and learning about history.
