According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, many important tasks had been undertaken as of October 15, but some still needed to be completed. With little time remaining before the opening, departments, sectors and localities are required to focus their efforts on ensuring that preparations meet both schedule and quality requirements.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is reviewing and finalizing scripts for the opening and closing ceremonies and artistic performances. Work on the pedestrian street area is continuing, including renderings, exhibition arrangements and decorations. Booth layouts and spaces for showcasing tea products, tea culture and cuisine, as well as promoting investment, are being developed in a coordinated manner to create distinctive highlights for the Festival.

Preparations for welcoming international delegates are also being accelerated. At the time of the review, 161 foreign delegates had confirmed their attendance at the opening ceremony; 10 tea delegations from Japan, China, South Korea and Taiwan had registered for exhibition booths; and around 40 international delegates had registered to attend the International Tea Forum.

For the ‘World Master Tea Vietnam’ competition, the Organizing Committee has conducted an online preliminary round and selected 20 contestants for the in-person round, scheduled for November 1-4. Activities featuring tea culture experiences, creative beverage preparation, product trading activities and demonstrations of the art of tea appreciation are also being prepared.

Dong Phuc Commune is continuing to prepare the site, OCOP booths, product display areas, tea-tasting pavilions and photo spots to promote Shan Tuyet tea culture.

At the conference, delegates reviewed the remaining tasks, especially those that must be completed before the opening, and discussed event arrangements, construction progress, logistics, and security and safety measures at the event venues.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivers directive remarks

In her directive remarks, Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the initiative and efforts of departments, sectors, localities and consulting units in preparing for the Festival. Stressing that time was running short and a substantial amount of work remained, she directed members of the Organizing Committee and relevant units to uphold their sense of responsibility, follow the principle of ‘clear personnel assignments, clear tasks and clear timelines’, and bring all assigned tasks to completion.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was directed to work closely with consulting units to finalize the renderings, the detailed event program for the pedestrian street area, and decorative display panels and mock-ups for submission to the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee; and to carefully review images and videos to be shown on LED screens to ensure that they are consistent with Thai Nguyen's distinctive tea cultural identity. The Department of Construction was tasked with assigning additional technical personnel to inspect and supervise the technical quality and safety of stage systems and infrastructure at Vo Nguyen Giap Square and other event venues, and to provide guidance on lighting, decorations and urban improvements. The Provincial Police were assigned to take the lead in implementing plans for maintaining public order and security, ensuring traffic safety, preventing and responding to fires and explosions, and escorting delegations throughout the Festival. Central wards were directed to intensify environmental sanitation and landscape improvements to maintain green, clean and attractive urban spaces.

The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed press and media agencies and the Provincial Portal to step up publicity and promotion of the Festival, highlighting Thai Nguyen's tea culture, people and tourism potential. Prompt completion of preparations, together with close coordination and accountability on the part of every agency and unit, is essential to ensuring that International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2026 is held safely and effectively, leaving a lasting impression on delegates and visitors from Vietnam and abroad.
