Agriculture and forestry production maintains positive growth momentum
In the first six months of 2026, thanks to favorable weather conditions and the proactive direction and management of all levels, sectors, and localities, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in the province continued to maintain positive growth momentum. The value of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries output is estimated to have increased by 4.11% year-on-year; of which agriculture grew by 3.77%, forestry by 7.39%, and fisheries by 6.8%.

In the cultivation sector, output of winter-spring cereal crops is estimated at 299,000 tons, up 0.9% year-on-year and reaching 50.6% of the annual plan. Paddy output alone is estimated at 213,000 tons, up 1.4% year-on-year. Tea continues to affirm its role as the province's key crop, with fresh tea bud output reaching about 127,500 tons, up 6.5% year-on-year and equal to 45.9% of the annual plan.

The livestock sector maintained steady growth, although animal feed prices remained high. Livestock farms continued restocking to ensure production scale. Total live-weight meat output is estimated at 143,900 tons, up 5.6% year-on-year and reaching 54.7% of the annual plan. Of which, live-weight pork output reached 63,400 tons, up 5.9%.

The forestry sector achieved many positive results, with concentrated forest planting area reaching 6,375 hectares, equal to 85% of the annual plan; the number of newly planted scattered trees is estimated at over 1.05 million trees, equal to 70% of the plan. Total output of harvested plantation timber is estimated at 484,250 m³.

Province-wide aquaculture output is estimated at 11,800 tons, up 9% year-on-year and equal to 51.1% of the annual plan, reflecting the effectiveness of expanding farming scale and applying technical advances to production.

Along with production development, the new rural development program continues to be implemented with strong determination by all levels, sectors, and localities. The province is studying and proposing new rural development content and criteria for the 2026-2030 period, while also implementing the Infrastructure Development Project for Disadvantaged and Especially Disadvantaged Communes for the 2026-2030 period.

Localities are also actively reviewing and classifying communes for new rural development, and maintaining and promoting the effectiveness of rural tourism development and digital transformation models in new rural development. In particular, the pilot model for developing OCOP products linked with community-based tourism in La Bang commune has been inspected and evaluated for further replication in the coming time.
